Scrub Jays can be obnoxiously loud...and my neighbor (who's quite the idiot) shoots them. I cannot imagine that. Each year, this nest in our camelia is revisited and inhabited by a mating pair...and we LOVE them!

Yeah, the adults are obnoxious, but it's fun to watch the juveniles learn how to fly. Unlike most birds, scrub jays are so out and about that you can really watch them. We have nests like these around our place too, but I haven't been so close to them. Nice photo!
