Fresh Berries

One of the great joy of living in the Willamette Valley is the bounty of fresh berries every summer. Strawberries are the harbingers, the heralds of fruit. When we moved to our new house, I planted 75 strawberry plants. The fruit was great the first couple days of harvest (thanks to those two sunny days), but it's been pretty flavorless (though plentiful) over the past week.
