Cedar House

This house located in the Siskiyou Nat Forest was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1936. It was built entirely of Port Orford white cedar. The siding is white cedar bark. It has a big fire place made of petrified wood found in the area. Several years ago the US Forest Servce was going to burn it down. So many people from this area protested it that it didn't happen.
