Vulcan Peak Tre
This is the color version taken on Kodachrome 64 slide film.
It's a photograph taken from below the trail looking up at the tree. Still an inch of snow on the lower tree branch.
Vulcan Peak has been a hard place to photograph for me...... because the best view is live and in person........ just being there, and looking out 25 miles west towards the ocean. In fall, when the fog comes in, it stays below you and you are 'on top of the clouds' so to speak.
I think Vulcan Peak is about 4,000 feet, and this is just above the trailhead....... possibly about 3,000+ feet elevation.
Vulcan Peak is east of Brookings quite a ways, and the road ends here near the lower part of the Kalimiopisi Wilderness Area.
